John B. Milledge, President
John is responsible for overall administration of Action Environmental, LLC. including operations, and business development. Prior to co-founding Action Environmental, John served as a Corporate Environmental Scientist with Southern Natural Gas Corporation (SONAT) developing waste management programs and compliance systems for 50+ natural gas transmission facilities through out the Southeastern United States. He supervised the total remediation of 13 PCB contaminated compressor stations, 600+ mercury contaminated sites across 8,500 miles of pipeline, and prepared environmental permits for new gas pipeline construction. Prior to SONAT, he worked for Bhate Environmental Engineering as an Environmental Geologist. John is a Registered Professional Geologist in Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia.
Douglas R. Carothers, Project Manager / Compliance
Doug has oversight responsibility for regulatory compliance. He has responsibility for project planning and estimation. Doug has worked in the chemical and environmental / hazardous waste treatment business for over 25 years. He has worked as a chemist, laboratory manager, Technical Services Manager and Business Development Manager for Part B permitted TSDFs. He has provided lectures on RCRA regulations at several local universities and was a founding member of the Alabama Society of Hazardous Materials Managers.
Randy Tipton, Project Manager, Safety Coordinator
Randy is responsible for project planning, estimation/quotes, field activity oversight, budget tracking, and invoicing. He has been involved in exploration/production drilling operations for oil/gas & ground-water resources, as well as geotechnical drilling during the 1980s. He has held project manager and division/department manager positions in the environmental field since 1991. Randy has previously worked with Bhate Engineering Corp., Schlumberger, Graves Well Drilling (Energen), Bhate Environmental Inc., USInfrastructure, and Jefferson County, AL. Randy is a Registered Professional Geologist in the State of Alabama.
Ron Larkin, Director of Pipeline Servcies
Ron has been with Action Environmental since 2006. He us a Safe State Program accredited Asbestos Inspector and Abatement Worker, 40 hr. HAZWOPER training. Ron is responsible for the overall administration of Action Environmental's Pipeline Services Group. Ron's duties include project planning, cost estimating, project execution, budget tracking and invoicing. Ron also develops and presents in-house training for pipeline maintenance activities and maintains two customer required contractor databases. Prior to joining Action Environmental in 2006, Ron was employed as Area Operations Supervisor for El Paso Corporation which owns North America's largest natural gas pipeline system. As Area Operations Supervisor for south Mississippi, he was responsible for total operation and maintenance of three mainline compressor stations, over 225 miles of transmission pipeline Rights-of-Way and 12 interconnect meter stations.
Mickey Thomas, Compliance Sales Specialist
Mickey has worked in the environmental compliance business for over 25 years in a variety of functions beginning with Route Sales and Service and advancing to Compliance Training Specialist, Branch Facilities Manager, having total responsibility for all aspects of compliance with Federal, State and local regulations for four Part B Permitted Facilities in the State of Alabama.
Mickey was instrumental in developing a marketing concept for a program known as T.E.A.M., which is Total Environmental Activity Management. This program is currently being utilized by many of the government agencies to reach a "green" status.
Mickey subcontracted with Action Environmental on a number of projects while acting as an Industrial Sales Specialist for other environmental companies. Mickey joined the Action Team three years ago and has worked as a Compliance Sales Specialist, focusing on the regulatory needs of Action's Customers. He is currently working with the entire Action Team to develop a wider and more diverse customer base, while maintaining the high level of service expected by our current customers.
Eddie Goins
Additional Field Personnel
Only full-time employees are utilized. No part-time or temporary help is employed on jobsites. All of our field technicians have received 40 hr. HAZWOPER training (in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 (e)), confined space procedures, lock out / tag out procedures, fire prevention / extinguisher use, PPE, Hazard Communication, and respiratory protection. All of our technicians are certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, and Blood Borne Pathogens. Additionally, several of our field personnel are AHERA trained to the Asbestos Abatement Supervisor level.
